1-Week Esthetic Makeover at NOA Dental - Valencia Dentist

We all desire the ability to smile with confidence. Perhaps you have a gap in your front teeth. Perhaps your teeth are chipped, crooked or uneven sized. You thought about braces but they take too long and you just don’t have enough information about other ways that may be faster.

Enter dental porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are very thin porcelain that is placed over the tooth/teeth to produce desired shape, size, and color that will transform your smile.

Porcelain Veneer Before and After

Several benefits of dental porcelain veneers are as follows:

  • Facelift for your teeth: Color, shape, size, and alignment of the teeth can be changed
  • Fast transformation: One week turnaround
  • Long lasting as long as you maintain them with good hygiene
  • Permanent teeth whitening: Select the shade you like which will be permanent. No more teeth whitening for your teeth that have veneers on.

What’s the process?

  • Come in for a free consultation during which the doctor will evaluate your teeth and discuss possible treatment options. If veneers are appropriate, then the doctor will remove a very thin layer (less than 0.5mm) of your tooth’s outer enamel to gain space for the veneer. An impression will be made and the shade will be selected. (We recommend getting the whitening done prior to selecting the shade as the chosen shade for the veneers will be permanent)
  • The doctor will make a temporary veneer and place it on your tooth to wear while the new veneer gets fabricated
  • When the veneers are ready (in about a week), you will come in to the office for the doctor remove the temporary veneer and place the new one using permanent dental bonding system

Who are good candidates for veneers?  If your condition is not listed here, please call for a free consultation and we can assess the viability for veneers then:

  • Misaligned, uneven, crooked teeth
  • Fractured, chipped, cracked teeth
  • Gaps and spaces between teeth
  • Too big or too small teeth
  • Discolored and stained teeth with tetracycline or fluorosis

What are potential downsides of veneers?

  • Once placed, veneers can’t be reshaped (they will have to be replaced entirely)
  • Because enamel has been removed, your tooth may become more sensitive to hot and cold foods and beverages
  • Though not likely, veneers can fall off. To minimize the chances, refrain from biting on nails, ice, or other hard objects putting excessive pressure on your teeth
